What impact has your study abroad experience had on your life and studies?

My study abroad experience has given me further appreciation of what I do and the world that I live in. Studying design at PCA introduced me to a lot of wonderful professors and friends and I am now more passionate and confident in what I do. Having lived abroad for a year, I have come to appreciate how large the world is and how many different cultures there are to learn about and experience.

How will you keep your study abroad experience alive back in the US and Fordham?

At Fordham, I want to continue exploring my newfound passion for design by pursuing more lucrative internships and jobs in the field. I have a new attitude towards professional and social situations that have definitely changed me world perspective and I am excited to test myself in my final year at Fordham.

What suggestions or advice would you give to a prospective study abroad student?

I would suggest 3 things. Number 1, don’t have any expectations. I came in not expecting anything and I think that’s why I came to love my experience so much. I wasn’t looking for anything I just wanted to experience something. Number 2, don’t be scared. A lot of the time, you are not the only one abroad and you are definitely not the only one scared about what’s to come. Number 3, capitalize on your experience. Travel, go see the world, do something. You are abroad for a short time so take advantage of it.
