What impact has your study abroad experience had on your life and studies?

I have a better understanding of the world and the impact that the U.S. has on other countries, especially countries where it was (and is) the source of strife. Because of this, I want to continue staying up to date on the way other countries view the U.S. and its politics as well as hope to continue traveling.

How will you keep your study abroad experience alive back in the US and Fordham?

I will share my experiences with my peers. I want to continue speaking in Spanish and hope to do so with friends who studied in Spanish speaking countries. I also want to stay up to date on the news happening in my host country and keep in touch with my homestay family.

What suggestions or advice would you give to a prospective study abroad student?

Do it. Take the time to learn about another culture, to challenge yourself to break out of your comfort zone, and live differently. I believe it is important to appreciate and understand different ways of doing life, and living in a different place for so long is a great way to learn. 10/10 would recommend study abroad.
